有许多鸟从2007年冬季的天空飞过，飞向哪里，没有人知道，连鸟自己也不清楚。新的一年如期降临，2008年的钟声敲开天下每一扇半开半闭的门。

 

    Birds flitted through the winter sky in 2007.Where is their destination?No one knows,even birds themselves.The new year is coming as scheduled.The new year's bell of 2008 has opened every ajar door in the world.

 

    2007年的舞台已徐徐落下帷幕，中国与亚洲共谋的当代艺术市场，传来的掌声、呐喊声、窃喜声、叹息声，经久不息。在现代艺术与国际资本的拥抱下，冲高的数字正不断地被刷新，这与中国发展中的当代艺术，是喜？是忧？抑或是喜忧参半？批评家彭德在“关于当代艺术意义的再讨论”会议上疾呼：“当市场和媒体把一个平庸的画家打造成市场宠儿，当产业化的现状使某些当代艺术在不断地仿制或自我复制，很多作品无助于生态、世态和心态的改善而是相反。”资本时代的中国存在独立的评判家吗？充满激情的彭德们能打破久患“失语症”的批评家群体吗？这是每一个有艺术良心的艺术家对自己对他人，都必须做出独自而负责的回答。

 

    The curtain is ringing down slowly on the stage of 2007.In China and Aisa contemporary art market,you can hear all kinds of applause,whoop,chuckle and sigh.Because of the combination of contemporary art and international capital,the hammer price is rising all the time.Is it a good news for the developing Chinese contemporary art or not?Or both?Critic Peng De had said in the conference which is called Talk about the Meaning of Contemporary Art , “When market and media make a mediocre painter becoming the beloved of the market,when industrial current situation makessome contemporary art copy or self-duplicating constantly,a lot of art works will become helpless from the ways of life, the ways of the world and the ways of thinking.”Is there any independent critic in this capital age in China?Can these passionate Peng Des cure the “aphasia” of critic groups?These are the questions for every artist with art conscience.

 

    而物价上涨，全球变暖，油价飙升的对话与“八五新潮”以来的中国当代绘画的争鸣，前者关乎国计民生的忧虑，后者有关图像绘画与新绘画的学术探讨，叙述着今天资本和权利的合谋还是明天绘画的重生？是存在就是合理还是当代艺术就是颠覆与解构？不同的议题同样使人深思。有楚国的屈原在《天问》中云：穷洁天下事。又有多少国人不为之汗颜。

 

    Yet,the rising of the commodity price,the warming of the globe and the soaring of oil price is contending with the Chinese contemporary art since the trend from 1985.The formers are related to the national economy and the people's livelihood,while the last one is related to academic study of painting.Study about whether today’s capital and rights will cause the reborn of tomorrow’s painting art,is it right that “only in the state does man have a rational existence” or “the contemporary art is a subversion or a deconstruction”.Different questions all leave people considering just as Qu Yuan had said in Tianwen (Inquiries of Heaven): “To deal with everything in the world”,how many compatriots will feel embarrassed?

    我们是谁？是鸟？非鸟？都同样期待2008年的艺术天空依然洁净、美丽依然。

Who are we?Birds?Or non-birds?Whatever we are,we still hope the sky of art in 2008 will be clean and beautiful.
